1. Introduction
As an ambassador in the first cohort of the Midnight program, I am honored to contribute to a global community dedicated to privacy-preserving technology, secure digital innovation, and meaningful engagement.
With many new users, contributors, and aspiring ambassadors joining, it has become increasingly important to ensure that the onboarding process is clear, consistent, and easy to follow.
Several members, myself included, have noticed that there is uncertainty regarding the use of certain tools and external platforms that are referenced as places to complete tasks, earn points, or progress through ambassador levels.
To ensure that the entire community can grow together effectively, I would like to formally raise this concern and propose improvements for guidance.
2. Current Challenge: Insufficient Guidance for New Members
New participants in the program often face three main difficulties:
a) Lack of centralized, official explanations
Some tools and platforms mentioned within community discussions are not accompanied by updated official tutorials, walkthroughs, or clear instructions.
This forces new users to experiment blindly, which can lead to confusion or discourage participation.
b) Multiple external platforms with different learning curves
For example, platforms like Zealy have their own systems, interfaces, and rules.
Without proper guidance, newcomers may struggle to understand:
-
How the platform works,
-
Which actions are part of the official Midnight program,
-
How points or tasks are validated.
c) Possible confusion for younger or inexperienced Web3 members
Some external environments contain features that may not be suitable or relevant for all users.
Clear guidance from the Midnight team would help identify what is officially part of the program and what is not.
3. Why Better Guidance Matters
A clear onboarding framework would bring many benefits to the entire community:
Improve the quality and consistency of participation
Users would instantly know:
-
Which platforms are officially recognized,
-
Which tasks count toward their progress,
-
How to contribute effectively.
Provide equal access to information for everyone
Regardless of a member’s country, Web3 experience, age, or technical knowledge, everyone deserves the same clarity.
Prevent potential misunderstandings about external platforms
Official instructions ensure that users stay aligned with the program’s intended activities and boundaries.
4. Formal Request to the Midnight Team
On behalf of active participants in the first cohort, I would respectfully like to propose the following:
An updated, official onboarding guide
This should include:
-
The list of officially recognized platforms,
-
Their role within the program,
-
Clear usage instructions,
-
A description of which tasks and actions count for progression,
-
Best practices for platforms such as Zealy.
A clarification on the use of external platforms
It would help to clearly distinguish:
-
Which platforms are recommended,
-
Which platforms are unrelated to the program,
-
Which environments may contain features not relevant to Midnight’s objectives.
A dedicated FAQ for new ambassadors
Example topics:
-
Where to complete official tasks
-
How to earn points in a valid way
-
Who to contact for help
-
What to do when a platform is confusing
Optional short video tutorials or monthly walkthrough sessions
Live or recorded demonstrations would greatly reduce beginner errors and accelerate skill-building across the community.
5. Conclusion
As a committed participant in the inaugural Midnight Ambassador cohort, I firmly believe in the transformative potential of this community.
But for every member to fully contribute, we need a transparent, coherent, and supportive onboarding process.
This post is therefore a respectful call to the appropriate Midnight teams to help ensure that no new user is left uncertain and that our community continues to grow with clarity, inclusivity, and excellence.
Thank you to everyone contributing to the Midnight ecosystem.
I remain available to collaborate if needed on drafting or improving these onboarding materials.
