Midnight is now on Zealy - Start Questing!

Community and builder quests are now available on Zealy, a platform used to host community engagement programs.

Quests are designed to guide participants through technical onboarding to the Midnight Network. They reward contributions such as writing tutorials, submitting pull requests, building sample DApps, or assisting others here on the forum or via Discord. Completing quests earns points tracked on a public Zealy leaderboard, making all contributions visible.

High quality work from the community will be commended and highlighted, to thank participants and showcase best practices.

Earning 1,000 points in Zealy is a prerequisite for applying to the Midnight ambassador program.

The purpose of quests for the Midnight Network

The Zealy quests provide a transparent method for recognizing community contributions. The leaderboard captures community members’ work, highlighting impact and ensuring all contributions are visible.

The questing program allows participants to:

  • Earn rewards for participation: Points reflect genuine engagement, content creation, and open-source contributions. For example: “Write a new Midnight Network Doc/Tutorial” for 100 points or “Engage in a Conversation in the Midnight Network Discord or Forums.” for 15 points.

  • Accelerate onboarding: Technical onboarding quests cover all essentials, so developers hit the ground running.

A pathway to the ambassador program

This launch lays the foundation for the upcoming Midnight Network Technical Ambassador Program: Midnight Aliit.

In Mando’a, the fictional Mandalorian language, aliit means “clan” or “family” and is pronounced [ah-LEET]. It’s a core concept in Mandalorian culture, where clans form the structure of society and family bonds extend beyond blood.

The Midnight Aliit program is scheduled to launch at the end of Q1 2026, giving community members sufficient time to meet the eligibility requirements through the quest system

Eligibility

To apply for the Midnight Aliit program upon its launch, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 1,000 questing points earned through community engagement and technical contributions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Midnight network’s technology and goals.

  • Active participation in community channels and initiatives.

Ambassador opportunities

Participating in quests allows potential candidates to build the reputation and expertise required for the program. Members of Midnight Aliit will have access to specific opportunities:

  • Join exclusive gatherings with other ambassadors, Midnight engineers, developer relations (DevRel) teams, and partners.

  • Showcase expertise by building sample applications, tutorials, and new features.

  • Represent the Midnight network by hosting meetups and running workshops.

  • Receive travel and meetup stipends for speaking at conferences or organizing local developer study groups.

  • Review Project Catalyst DApp grant proposals to help guide which projects receive funding.

  • Weekly & Daily Check-ins: Consistent engagement is rewarded

  • Community Participation: Join discussions, help other members, and attend events

  • Technical Contributions: Ship a sample app, write a technical blog post or thread, or submit a pull request with proposed changes to the codebase

  • Teaching: Contribute your expertise in a Discord or forum discussion

  • Running Events: Organize a local meetup or study jam

I agree! I hope people enjoy it as much as I have.. I was in this forum for months before I did the quests.. Then the quest had me engaging in here more often and I did the tuturial on how to use the forum and I learned so much more.. It’s been great.. I havent needed the developer tools so far that are embedded in here but hopefully as more and more people want to learn how to develop with Midnight I will be a better coder and can keep up! Quest review feedback

@samsongoddy I have had several people letting me know they are at a standstill. I explained devs have been at Midnight summit. One of the new Mods hit me up for advice on pushing through quests because he didn’t know how to judge the demo apps or any tech issues, this was prior to London. I suggested he just review the ones he understood everyday and ask you for more guidance. Several people have come to me stating daily reviews have not been done in awhile.. I don’t mind assisting with the basic reviews since I am out here onboarding people to the quests and they keep coming to me with any problems they encounter. I will move forward with any guidance you provide.

Thank you for flagging. Yes, we are on it and reviewing them. We are having a good problem at the moment, which is that a lot of people are questing, which is fantastic, but we are a little team internally, so yes, I will find a way to get you involved. I’m really excited about the community’s interest in our zealy board.

Goodness I just saw this. I was looking for the forum tutorial but did not find it. So far I have not had any issues. I need to get to the building portion so I can develop! Thanks for always sharing information with us! Sharing information is the best way to create a strong foundation.

Hi!!1 Just joined this forum & Zealy today and I’m already excited to dive in! :new_moon:

I really love the quest concept — learning, building, and sharing with the community while earning points toward something bigger.

Quick question: is there a time limit to reach the 1,000 points required for the ambassador program?

Also, for the Technical Contributions, do technical articles on LinkedIn or Medium count? I usually write there to bring Web3 closer to people in science, healthcare, and other areas where Midnight could truly make a difference.

This program will be ongoing.. This is just a head start.. You certainly can post on other social sites, if that is where you get the most engagement and excited to see folks branching out.. I posted on facebook today..lol Midnight has 6 followers.. Keep it going,I am finding the GitHub - midnightntwrk/contributor-hub: A repository for contributors of Midnight project. is a wealth of resources as well as the Midnight git itself. look around and use the tools provided. So the Zealy quest is a prelude to being a Midnight Ambassador. I’m just joining Zealy. I hope I get to get the 1000 point especially for someone like me that’s not a developer because most of the high point tasks is for devs.

So I tell everyone to jump around in the quests, they don’t have to be in order, my friend @Spy started with the academy and interacting everyday and she is way up there
