Hi Midnight community ![]()
First of all — congratulations on the mainnet launch. This is a genuinely historic milestone and the architecture you’ve built around programmable privacy is unlike anything else in the space.
I’m James, solo founder of Bitrove — a decentralised peer-to-peer marketplace currently live on Polygon that I’m actively planning to integrate with Midnight. The privacy-first escrow model is exactly what peer-to-peer commerce needs and I’m excited about what’s possible here.
I have two questions I can’t find clearly answered in the current documentation and they’re critical for planning my integration:
1. Supported Wallets
What wallets support Midnight at launch? Specifically:
- Is there a dedicated Midnight wallet or do existing wallets (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, hardware wallets like Ledger/Trezor) support the network?
- What’s the roadmap for broader wallet compatibility?
- For a marketplace use case where sellers and buyers need to connect a wallet — what’s the recommended wallet for end users today?
2. Token Conversion and Supported Coins
The launch doc covers NIGHT and DUST clearly but I’d love more clarity on:
- Can users pay with existing assets (USDT, USDC, ETH, ADA) on Midnight or only NIGHT/DUST?
- Is there a native DEX or bridge for converting mainstream coins to NIGHT?
- For a marketplace escrow — what tokens can realistically be used for settlement today?
The self-funding application model where developers hold NIGHT to cover DUST for users is genuinely the most exciting thing in this launch for real-world adoption. If Bitrove can absorb transaction costs for our users it removes the single biggest onboarding barrier we face.
Happy to share more about what we’re building if useful to the team. Any guidance from the community or core team would be hugely appreciated ![]()
