CompactLab beta: write, deploy and call Compact contracts in your browser, with fees paid for you

CompactLab is a browser playground for Midnight. You write a Compact contract, compile it, deploy it to Preprod and call its circuits. You don’t need to install a toolchain or get tDUST: during the beta, CompactLab pays your network fees.

Only 10 seats. First come, first served.

  1. Get ready (2 minutes)

• Install the 1AM wallet extension in Chrome or Brave. • In 1AM, switch the network to Preprod. • You don’t need tDUST or tNIGHT.

  1. Join

• Open CompactLab | Midnight Smart Contract IDE • Sign up with email and password, or with Google or GitHub. • Confirm your email using the link we send you. You can’t deploy until you do. If it’s not in your inbox, check spam.

  1. Try it

• Open a template (for example the counter) and click Compile. • Click Connect 1AM and approve in the popup. • Click Deploy. The fee shows as sponsored. • In the contract panel, call a circuit and watch each step: Prove → Fee → Send → Confirm. What to expect • Generating the proof takes 1 to 2 minutes. Leave the tab open. • If 1AM asks you to approve again partway through, approve it. Your transaction continues. • You get 20 sponsored transactions per day. Feedback Reply in this thread with: • what you built, • anything that broke (a screenshot and the message from the Console panel help a lot), • anything that confused you. Thanks for helping us test! ::folded_hands::
